The Great Firewall of China

A terrific website has been set up called "The Great Firewall of China." A tip of the hat to Todd to pointing this site out to me.

It allows you to see what sites are currently blocked within China, and you can test any URL. Test yours! It's fun! It wasn't much of a surprise to see that BooYahoo! has been blocked.

ReBang

Google launches ReBang in China.

Another step in the right direction for Google. To quote the article:

"But why is this not hosted on Google.cn?

Because doing so would mean that Rebang would fall under Chinese legal jurisdiction and since not all people who search for Chinese language terms on Google live in mainland China, Google Rebang should show a more transparent and honest view of what people are searching for in Chinese."

I wonder if this site will be legally accessible by people in mainland China?
